Claerwen Dam to Eryri National Park inc Bastard Lane (Wales) 2-Day Tour – May31st/June 1st
£245.00
Not for the faint hearted, this route includes everything you want to test you and your 4×4.
Tight gaps, technical climbs, big wheel lifts and many water crossings – what more could you ask for? We have tailored this route so it’s suitable for all driver abilities but your vehicle must be fitted with all-terrain tyres or better and long wheel base vehicles (mainly pickups) must have rear and side protection bars unless fitted with a lift kit and taller tyres or we will have to avoid bastard lane. (please see minimum requirements before booking).
Starting at Rhayader, we’ll head out through the Elan Valley on one of the UK’s best lanes approaching Claewen Dam, famously known for the original Land Rover ‘unstoppable’ advert which was more recently recreated by Richard Hammond on Top Gear.
We’ll then head on to another lane taking us high into the mountains through the vast open landscape of Wales heading north experiencing some of the most beautiful scenery you’ll ever see. We’ll head through the mountains on the Cwmystwyth Mountain Road heading through the old Metal Mines before reaching Devils Bridge to start our next off-road track.
Later on we’ll finish off the day tackling the notorious ‘Bastard Lane’ (this is optional for you to drive or you can sit as a passenger) proving itself as ‘the most challenging lane in the UK.
Day 2 heads straight into the lanes heading north towards Snowdonia finding some of the best lanes the UK has to offer. We’ll head right out onto the west coast proving some of the best sea views in Wales (providing the fog doesn’t show up) This is one of the most memorable trips and one not to be missed!
